ABOUT THE BAND

“Twins in a metal band” is just half of what Dianthvs is. The band is a real project that is as rare as the twinship. Fraternal twin sisters, Jessica and Jackie Parry founded the band in their hometown of Riverside, California in the midsummer of 2015. The sound of Dianthvs developed from the twins’ early experience in classical piano and combines a myriad of other musical styles including progressive rock and heavy metal. The band name “Dianthvs” stems from the symbolism behind the flower itself, representing the band’s femininity and edge.

Together, Jackie (lead vocals/guitars/piano/synthesizers) and Jessica (backing vocals/drums/piano/synthesizers) have written and released two full-length studio albums, “Worth Living For” and most recently, “Realms”.

The band used to function under the name "Dianthus", but recently rebranded to "Dianthvs" to distinguish themselves further from the perennial flower on search engines and other artists with the same name on streaming platforms.

The debut album, “Worth Living For”, was produced by Jeremy “Jinxx” Ferguson (Black Veil Brides) and Chad Shlosser at Drac Studios, the home studio of Matt Sorum (Guns ‘N Roses, Velvet Revolver, The Cult, Hollywood Vampires). “Within Hazel Eyes”, “Chrysalis”, and “Black Snow” are among the known tracks on this record- each detailing unique moods in the early chapter of the band’s journey.

The sophomore album, “Realms”, was produced by Steve Evetts, an American record producer who has produced music for artists such as Poison the Well, A Static Lullaby, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Sepultura, Symphony X, Frank Iero, and Suicide Silence. This record is the band’s first conceptual release. “Realms” tells a story of a sisterhood adventure through a mystical fantasy world, which has been explored further through an official comic book release. The band collaborated with talented alumni from The Kubert School of New Jersey on the “Realms” comic book. Jessica and Jackie wrote the captions within the comic and worked directly with Adelia Gunderson (comic artist) and Dakota Urhan (comic art colorist).

"A Space in the Silence" is one of the heavier tracks on the “Realms” record. It identifies an inner-angst and aggression. The drums begin the song with a meaty groove that thickens as the intensity builds, while the guitars tap into an ominous and subliminal void. The official music video for this track is the pinnacle of what Dianthvs strives to enliven with their music. An intrigue with Victorian-era fashion fosters a deceivingly heavy sound from the twin sisters. The video takes viewers into a dark chapter within the conceptual world. Quick flashes of the twins walking down a dimly lit hallway are reminiscent of the iconic moments from Stanley Kubrick's, "The Shining".

The band was recognized in their home city for their musical achievements and were bestowed with the “Riverside Pride Success Award”, presented in-person by Riverside Mayor Bailey and City Council.

In late August of 2023, Dianthvs released their latest single, “Alive in the Moonlight” on digital platforms. The track was the first of theirs to feature harsh vocals and screams. The new sound and direction of the band has garnered the attention of their current listeners and has also gained the likes of those in the metal/deathcore scene. Fans are eager to hear more of this sound from the band.

The Parry twins will enter the studio once again with Michael Montoya (producer for Left to Suffer, Machine Gun Kelly, Ov Sulfur, Juice WRLD, Project Shavo: featuring Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down) to begin their next release.
